What Is Flomax?
Flomax is a bit different than most supplements we discuss here. Flomax must be prescribed by a doctor and cannot be consumed with your meals. When taking flomax as a supplement, it’s important to know how to manage the timing of the prescription. Proper timing can make all the difference in the world.
Flomax is an alpha-blocker that relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck. This allows for easier urination. Flomax is only used by men and is typically used to improve urination in men with enlarged prostates or more technically speaking, benign prostatic hyperplasia.
When To Take Flomax
Flomax is typically taken once a day, about 30 minutes after a meal. It is best to take flomax at the same time each day. Always swallow the capsule whole.
The initial dosing for flomax is 0.4 mg taken orally once a day. The maximum dosing can increase to 0.8 mg taken orally once a day.
If you find that you missed a dose, take your pill as soon as you remember. It is only appropriate to skip the missed dose if you are very close to needing your next dose. Never take extra medicine.
